Roland A. Ferreira, 82, of New Bedford died June 7, 2011 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of Cynthia A. (Carreau) Ferreira.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Anthony and Estelle (Martin) Ferreira, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Ferreira was formerly employed as a painter and wallpaper hanger for many years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Anthony Ferreira of Florida; a daughter, Kellie Ferreira of New Bedford; 2 step-daughters, Karen Deshaies and Susan Sinagra, both of New Bedford; a brother, Raymond Ferreira and his wife Shirley of Fairhaven; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the step-father of the late Eric Carvalho.
His private arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
