New Bedford – Carlos M. Alcaidinho, age 90 years, died Monday, June 6, 2011, at St. Lukes Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the loved husband of Maria A. (daRocha) Alcaidinho of New Bedford. Loved father of Florimundo Alcaidinho and his wife Lucia, Carlos M. Alcaidinho and his wife Merinia and Manuel Alcaidinho all of New Bedford, loved grandfather of Philip, Ryan, and Nathan Alcaidinho, Kathy Oliveira and Kristy Daube and his great grandson Lucas Oliveira. He was the brother of Urbano and Adriano of Canada, Eugenio of St. Michael, Luisa of Canada and the late Joao, Manuel and Jose. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alcaidinho was born in St. Miguel, Açores and has lived in this area since 1967 . He was a son of the late Maria dos Anjos and Manuel Alcaidinho. Carlos was a floor worker at the Berkshire – Hathaway Mills and also worked as a landscaper with the Alcaidinho Landscaping Co.
Mr. Alcaidinho’s funeral will be Thursday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
