Franzell, Mary Alberta Hardin, 82, of Louisville, KY passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011.
Mary was better known as “Cake Lady”, owner of Cake Ladies Dream Shoppe. She was so talented and blessed so many others with her gift to create and teach cake decorating. Her artistic abilities became her passion. Her passion became a business venture that sustained the family for more than 40 years.
Survivors include; five children, Michael & Barbara Franzell of IN; Marilee & John Greene of FL; Donna & Donley Damron of Pikeville; Elayne & Harold Harkness and Robin Franzell.She has 5 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Other survivors include, sisters, Pat Embrey, OK & Carole Gibson, IN.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Daniel, and her youngest son, Kevin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 8th at the Owen Funeral Home, 5317Dixie Hwy, with burial in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8 PM and Wednesday 10 AM until service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Kosair Hospital or Hosparus.
