Obituary

WORCESTER: Thomas S. White, 94, of Goldthwaite Rd., died Friday, June 3, 2011 at UMass Memorial Medical Center -University Campus.
He leaves 2 daughters, Paula A. Carey of Worcester, Elizabeth L. White of St. Petersburg, FL; 4 grandchildren, Teresa Flynn and her husband Tom, Hilary Mooney, Brendon Carey, and Sean Carey; 6 great grandchildren; and a niece, Judith M. Santaniello of Worcester. A brother, Frank R. White, and 2 sisters, Elizabeth M. Hennessey and Dorothy E. Aiello, all predeceased him.
He was born in Boston, son of the late Francis and Lillian L. (Reagan) White. He was raised in Worcester, graduated from Classical High School, and later attended medical school in Atlanta, GA before serving in the Army during World War II.
Mr. White was a yard manager for the New York Central Railroad where he worked for 40 years until retiring. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers Bowling League and enjoyed spending time with his loving family and many friends.
A Celebration of Mr. White’s life will be held at the home of his daughter Paula, 179 Warner Ave., on Wednesday, June 8, starting at 4 P.M. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
