Mary Jane Inman, nee Luchini, passed away Saturday June 4, 2011. Born November 29, 1922 in Frankfort, Ky.
She was one of four children, and her family alternately spent time
in Frankfort and in Barga, Italy. She was a graduate of the
University of Kentucky, and earned a M.A. in Spanish. She taught
Spanish to high school students for over 25 years. She was a loving
mother of two daughters, a world traveler, and a tireless volunteer, including working in India with Mother Teresa's nuns. She spent a
summer in China and one in Poland, teaching English to English
teachers there. She visited countries in South
America, Europe, and Africa, often taking groups of students with her.
She was a volunteer at Maryhust, a CASA worker, delivered meals to the
elderly,
and was an associate with Sisters of Charity at Nazareth. She
volunteered
on committees and in the school at St. Michael Catholic Church, where
she was a parishioner for many years.
She touched many lives with her love and energy. She is survived by
her daughters, Fausta Luchini, and Julia Inman (Terry Brabb), three grandchildren, Julia and Megan Satterlee, Elias Smith, one great-grandchild, Kayla Butler, her sister Clara Maddox, and her cousin Giorgetta Gasperini. Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 1 pm at St. Michael Catholic Church 3705 Stone Lakes Dr. Burial will be at Frankfort Cemetery Frankfort, (KY).
