James F. “Jimmy” Thomason, age 71, of 523 Edgewood Drive, Danville, died Friday, June 3, 2011 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born July 31, 1939 in Danville, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Thomason and Lilian Crossley Thomason. He retired from the City of Danville where he was employed as a Dispatcher for the Water, Gas & Electric Department. Mr. Thomason was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters: June Schwartz and her husband Norm of Los Angeles, CA, Kathleen Murphy of Chesapeake, VA; one brother: Brian Thomason and his wife Joan of Danville. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Neil Thomason.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Richard Markham will be held on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 4 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 523 Edgewood Drive, Danville, VA.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
