William J. Thibeault age 74 of Canton, MA passed away June 2nd at the Norwood Hospital after a brief illness. Born and raised in Derry, NH, he graduated from Pinkerton Academy in New Hampshire and North Shore Community College in Beverly. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was the retired Executive Secretary for the Town of Canton and previously was the Town Manager for the Town of Whitman and the Ombudsman for the City of Beverly. He also previously worked as a bookkeeper for Adams Cleaners in Stoughton. He has lived in Canton since 1975 where he was a member of the American Legion Post #24, the American Legion Band, Canton Lions Club & the Knights of Columbus Council #2095. He enjoyed playing cribbage and bingo at the Knights of Columbus and was a writer and previously wrote articles for the Canton Journal. Husband of Carmen A. (Ballard). Father of Marie H. Bissel of Randolph, William B. of Randolph, James W. of Norton & Robert K. of S. Easton. Brother of Robert of Alabama & Richard of N.H. and the late Raymond & Paul Thibeault. Also survived by his six grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday at 12 noon. Visiting hours prior to the service Monday morning from 10 am –12 noon as well as Monday evening from 5-7 pm. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veterans Service Department 801 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
