EVANS, GA - Mrs. Beverly Edwards Joy, 79, beloved wife of Mr. Edwin D. Joy, Jr., DDS, entered into rest Wednesday June 1, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday June 5, 2011 at Platt’s Belair Rd. Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Joy is a graduate of Briarcliff College in Briarcliff manor, New York. She and her husband Ed were childhood sweethearts and have been married for 58 years. They lived in Key West, FL., for over a year, where she took up boating and salt-water fishing. They moved to the Augusta area in 1975. Beverly was the bookkeeper for the Augusta Sailing Club for 10 years. She loved to work in her garden and make are from stained glass.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons; Edwin D. Joy, III and wife Amy of Warren, ME, David M. Joy of Evans, GA; and one grandchild, Devin Joy.
Family will receive friends on Saturday June 4, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
