Albert F. “ Sonny” Keyes Jr. a lifelong resident of Stoughton passed away at home after a long illness on Wednesday June 1, 2011. He was 83 years old. He was the only child and beloved son of the late Albert F. Sr. and Annie Lauretta ( Lyle ) Keyes. His survivors include several close relatives and friends.
He attended Stoughton Public Schools and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Mr. Keyes was employed for over twenty years as a foreman with the F.C. Phillips Screw and Machine Manufacturing Company in Stoughton, Massachusetts. He retired in 1971. In his spare time he also enjoyed being a “ Greeter “ at several area medical facilities. He will be missed by his extended family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Al was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports. He also had a particular fondness for the racetrack.
His funeral service will be held on Friday June 3, 2011 at 12 noon from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. A visitation period will be held prior to the service from 10 – 11:45 A.M. All are welcome to attend. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, North Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 in Al’s memory, would be appreciated.
