Obituary

Augusta, GA---Mrs. Nelsie DixonTapley, 94, wife of the late Walter Anthony Tapley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 29, 2011.
Funeral services will be held will be held at 10:00 am tomorrow Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Jim McCollough officiating.
Interment services will be held at 2:00 pm at the Minton’s Chapel Advent Christian Cemetery, in Kite, GA.
Mrs. Tapley was a native of Kite, GA, but was a resident of Augusta for more than 75 years and was retired from the Graniteville Company. She was a faithful member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, where she was a cherished member of the Turner Fellowship Class and the Joymakers.
Mrs. Tapley was preceded in death by, other than her husband, her sisters, Blanche D. Tapley and Katie D. Powell and her brother, M. J. Dixon.
Survivors include her beloved son and daughter in law, Philip Anthony “Tony” and Carol Loyal Tapley, grandsons, Philip Anthony Tapley, Jr. and wife Rochelle Bloomenstock and Evan Loyal Tapley, her devoted friend Mildred H. Bradshaw and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Philip and Evan Tapley, nephews, Jerry Powell and Jimmy Dixon and friends, Chris Loyal and Bob Phillips.
The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
