Obituary

Martha Jean Gammon Ozmar, age 65, formerly of 448 Church Avenue, Danville, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 in the Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in declining health for the past eight months.

Born April 9, 1946 in the Bachelors Hall Community of Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. “Doc” Gammon and Essie Clark Gammon Brown. She lived most of her life in the Westover Hills Community and was a homemaker with her husband Ronald E. Ozmar, who predeceased her. Mrs. Ozmar was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one daughter: Kim Setchel of Roanoke; one grandson, Austin Setchel, and one granddaughter, Hannah Hight, both of Roanoke; one sister, Peggy B. Willard of Danville; two brothers: Robert Luther Gammon of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Charlie K. “Pete” Gammon of Danville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Roy E. Gammon, Jr., Jimmy Gammon, and Carl Gammon, and by one sister, Nancy Gammon Owen.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. William J. Soyars and Pastor Steve Johnson. A eulogy will be delivered by Greg Gammon. Interment will be private.
