Jason W. Molonson, 24, of Groton, died suddenly Saturday morning at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.
Jason was born in New London on December 21, 1979 the son of Theresa L. (Molonson) Deveau of Groton. Raised in Groton, he attended local schools. Since his graduation, he had been employed as a landscaper in the area.
Affectionately known for his larger than life personality and his love for his family and friends, Jason was a race car enthusiast and a well-known figure at the Waterford Speedbowl. He also enjoyed fishing, wrestling and was an accomplished bodybuilder, working out at Powerhouse in Groton.
In addition to his mother, Jason leaves behind his cherished 5 year old daughter, Yasmin Molonson of Groton; his stepfather, Pete Deveau of Groton, a brother, William Deveau, all of Groton, aunts uncles, cousins and his many friends who he also enjoyed spending time with.
Jason’s family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
His service will be conducted on Wednesday at 12:30 at the funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
