James C. Kempfer, Sr, age 72, of Clarksville, TN died Saturday May 28, 2011 at his residence.
James was born April 7, 1939 in Evansville, IL son of the late Cletus James Kempfer and Goldie Laramore Kempfer. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa O. Kempfer.
He was a retired US Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. He also retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell and was owner of ABC Printing Co. He attended St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Frey Kempfer; son, James C. Kempfer, Jr (Jennifer), Navarre Beach, FL; daughter, Michele R. Jones (Bryan), O'Fallon, IL; step-daughter, Jamie Frey (Tim Bolin), Clarksville; brother, Robert E. Kempfer, Pensacola, FL; sisters, Mary L. Bosworth, Clarksville; Sherry Cobb, Palmyra, TN and Terry Haskell, Centerville, MO.; and grandchildren, Sara and David Jones, Kaitlyn Kempfer, and Dalton Reda.
Visitation will be held at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home on Thursday June 2, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with full military honors. Rev. Bill Morris will officiate.
