David T. Womack

Augusta, GA – Mr. David T. Womack, 76, entered into rest Thursday, May 26, 2011.
Mr. Womack was a member of Pineview Baptist Church. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army and part of his service time as a Military Policeman. Mr. Womack joined the Augusta Police Department following the military and retired as a Corporal after 30 years of service. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Womack enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and watching baseball. He helped coach the Augusta Police Department Pony League Baseball team. He was a loving, devoted father and husband.
Mr. Womack is survived by his wife Nellie Womack and sons: Johnny and Jeff; daughter, Beverly; daughters-in-law Elaine and Lisa; and sister, Ann Kent and husband James.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Dr. Michael Davenport and Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Pineview Baptist Church, former Augusta Police Dept. Officers, and Richmond County Sheriff Dept. colleagues.
