Obituary

WASHINGTON...Glenda R. Rediger, 83, of Washington, passed away at 8 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
Glenda was born on April 16, 1928 in Aurora, Nebraska to Glenn and Ruth Reichardt Gundy. Glenda married Joseph “Joe” A. Rediger in Washington on July 20, 1947. Joe survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stephen J. Rediger of Washington and Stanley B. (Carol) Rediger of Oak Hill, Virginia; one daughter, Shelly (George) Waters of Savannah, Georgia; one brother, Homer (Janice) Gundy of Washington; one sister, Lois Reeb of Tucson, Arizona; sister-in-law, Shirley Gundy of Washington and eight loving grandchildren, Jason, Angela, Andrew, Stephen, Anna, Katherine, Erica and Elijah.
Glenda was a 1946 graduate of Washington Community High School, then after raising a family, she followed her love of art by taking classes at ICC. After Joe’s retirement they did extensive traveling around the world, visiting four continent’s and later Glenda would paint pictures of the places they had been from the photographs that had been taken.
She had been a member of Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church in Washington for more than 60 years and had also served as a Sunday School teacher.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 30, 2011 with Pastor Ken Sistrunk officiating at Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church. There will be private family graveside services prior to the memorial service at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvary Evangelical Mennonite Church’s building fund.
