Charles J. Fini, R.Ph, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died after a 3 month stay at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton on Thursday, May 26. He was the beloved husband of Virginia A. (Yovino) Fini. Son of the late John and Anna (Caputo) Fini, he was born and raised in South Boston and graduated from Gate of Heaven School and South Boston High School, Class of 1941. He was a graduate and class president of Mass. College of Pharmacy in Boston, Class of 1944. Mr. Fini was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. He was a Pharmacist’s Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. Mr. Fini was a pharmacist for over 65 years and a Senior Food & Drug Inspector for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was proprietor of Fini Drug in S. Boston from 1946-1960. He was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus in South Boston.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Fini is survived by his children, John C. Fini and his wife M. Elizabeth of Pasadena, CA, Anne M. Fini of Stoughton and William Y. Fini and his wife Karen of Easton, as well as his grandchildren, Alex and Ben Fini. He was the brother of the late Camille Satkewich and Rocco Fini. He was the brother-in-law of Helen (Yovino) Launie and her husband John of W. Yarmouth and Stephen Yovino of TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private. Visiting Hours will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, May 30 from 5-8 PM. In recognition of the compassionate nursing care Charlie received during his stay, in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Southeast Rehab. & Skilled Care Ctr., Attn: Activity Dept., Sue Faria, 184 Lincoln St., Easton, MA 02356.
