Winfred “Winnie” Browning Royal, age 85, Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 1022 at Specialty Hospital, Jacksonville, FL following an extended illness. Mrs. Royal was born to the late John D. And Orene Jones Browning on October 18, 1925 in Portland, FL. Mrs. Royal was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Royal. She was a homemaker. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in Douglas City Cemetery. Survivors include: sons: Gerald D. Royal, Douglas, GA, Richard L. Royal, Kathleen, GA; sisters: Patricia Whitley, Douglas, GA, Addie Mullis, Macon, GA; brother: Charles Browning, Pensacola, FL; grandchildren: Mandy Royal, Eddie Royal, Katie Royal and Lauren Flint; great grandchildren: Shawn Taylor and Karsyn Flint; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
