Viola Mason Joseph of Water Valley, MS, died May 24, 2011 on her 92nd birthday. Born to Robert and Mayfield Alexander Mason in 1919, she was a homemaker who loved to fish whenever there was an opportunity. Mrs. Joseph was a faithful member of Sander’s Chapel M. B. Church.
A visitation is planned for for Monday, May 30, 2011 from 5 until 7 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11 AM at Sander’s Chapel with visitation beginning at 10 AM until service time. Rev. Mitchell Steen will officiate the service, and grandsons of Mrs. Joseph will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Christian Memorial Cemetery adjacent to the church.
Mrs. Joseph is survived by one daughter, Mary Frances Johnson of Rock Island, IL; four sons, Willie Lee Joseph of Chicago, IL, Eugene Joseph of Crenshaw, MS, Robert E. Joseph of Davenport, IO, and Sidney D. Joseph of Chicago, IL; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Joseph, and her brother, Johnny Mason.
