Helen H. Wiggins, 83, of Ocilla, Georgia died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Rev. Roger Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Pinetta Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Wiggins was born March 26, 1928 in Sylvester the only child of the late John C. and Gladys Holt Henry. She was a graduate of Sylvester High School. Mrs. Wiggins was a homemaker and farm wife who lived in Ocilla most of her life. After the death of her first husband she went to work in the dietary department of Irwin County Hospital where she worked for twenty years. Mrs. Wiggins was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening and crocheting.
Mrs. Wiggins is survived by her husband of 33 years: Doug Wiggins of Ocilla; children: John L. “Buddy” (Mae) Guy of Adel, Janie P. (Bo Griner) Sheffield of Fitzgerald and Sammy J. (Janice) Guy of Irwin County; 4 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Guy.
