Ingrid Ness Main, of 17 Main Place, Noank, died Friday morning at Mary Elizabeth Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Main was born May 28, 1934 the daughter of Sigurd and Signy (Jensen) Ness. She was a 1952 graduate of Fitch High School and was employed as a secretary at Electric Boat in Groton before devoting her time to raising her family. She enjoyed reading, camping, gardening, picnics, and took special pride in her grandchildren.
She was married to Edgar D. Main at Union Baptist Church on September 5, 1959. They enjoyed almost 45 years of marriage together. In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Karen I. Hakenjos of Groton and Bruce E. Main of Uncasville, 6 grandchildren, a brother, Robert Ness of Stonington; a sister, Linda Files of Mystic.
She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Lawrence.
Her funeral service will be conducted at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic on Monday at 2pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. There are no visitng hours.
