Obituary

Mrs. Nellie Long Joyner 103, entered into the presence of her Heavenly Father on Monday, May 23, 2011, at Stokes Reynolds Memorial Hospital. She was born May 19, 1908, in Forsyth County to the late Eugene and Lelar Dull Long. She was the eldest member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Joyner; sons and wives, Alton (Gracie) Joyner, Joe (Nancy) Joyner, four brothers, six sisters and son-in-law, Pat Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Moore, grandchildren, Marilyn (Donnie) McHone, Keith (Sandy) Moore, Joan Prevette, Lisa (Sandy) Jarvis, Darrell Moore, Kenneth (Kim) Joyner, Deborah (Andy) Helsabeck, Alton, Jr. (Kristin) Joyner, Dale Joyner, Stanley Joyner, Cathy (Wade)Gibbs; fifteen great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Huff Funeral Home in East Bend, with Dr. Rick Speas officiating with a visitation to follow until 9:00. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
