Gennaro C. Vozzella, a Woburn resident for over sixty years formerly of Winchester, passed away May 23rd, at the age of 84 following a short illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ruth (Kritzer). Born and raised in Winchester he was the son of the late Celestino and Edith (Capone) Vozzella.
"Gerry" as he was affectionately known to his family and friends was former superintendent of the Jewish Cemetery in Woburn where he worked for over 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed his being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his leisure time Gerry would spend as much time as possible at his second home in Laconia, NH.
In addition to his late wife, Gerry is preceded in death by his son, the late Stephen Vozzella, two sisters, the late Edith Bock and Rosemarie Henick. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Maxine Bouchard of Wakefield. Two loving grandsons, Paul Bouchard and Mark Bouchard and his wife Nicole. He was the loving great grandfather of Alyssa, Tyler and Ashley Bouchard. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Frank Vozzella and his wife Ellie, Celestino "Chili" Vozzella Jr. and his wife Angela, Rudy Vozzella and his wife Gerri, Josephine Scalisi, Tillie Harbour and her husband John, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Thursday, May 26th, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
