FERGUSON Esther (nee Fehr) - Of Wellesley, died May 17, devoted wife of the late Robert Ferguson MD for 39 years; loving daughter of the late Jacob Fehr and Charlotte Debora Fehr of Switzerland; sister to Edwin Fehr and the late Marianne Charlotte Bolli; aunt to Marietta and Lorenz Fehr and Beatrice (Bolli) Avduli, and sister-in-law to Elsbeth Fehr and Thedy Bolli. Esther died following a valiant struggle with an illness which developed in 2010.
She was born in Schaffhausen, Switzerland and attended Schaffhausen High School later becoming a dental assistant. Esther emigrated to the Boston area, met and married Robert, and lived happily in Wellesley where Esther and Robert made their home and many life-long friends. Esther was deeply committed to her volunteer work, for many years she spent her time volunteering at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and most recently, at the Metro-West Medical Center in Natick. Esther was active in her community and participated in many local clubs. She was a highly respected member of Christ Church United Methodist Church in Wellesley, where she sang in the choir and was part of the church's quilting group. Esther is lovingly remembered by her immediate family and many devoted friends and neighbors.

A memorial service, honoring the lives of both Esther and Robert Ferguson, will be held at Christ Church United Methodist Church Wellesley, 2 Brook Street, on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10:30 AM.
