Gladys C. Thomas, 92, of Stone Hill Road, Arkport, NY died Saturday, February 9, 2002 at the Nicholas Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville, NY. She was born in Manchester, NH on October 1, 1909, a daughter of the late Grover C. and Celia C. (Jackson) Whittier. She was a resident of Arkport, NY since 1994, formerly living in Manchester, NH and Derry, NH. She was a charter member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church Tabernacle Society, Derry, NH. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary in Derry for many years. She was predeceased by her first husband Arthur A. Levesque who died in 1960 and her second husband Joseph R. Thomas in 1994.
She is survived by three sons, Richard A. Levesque, Loudon, NH, Robert F. Levesque, Rangeley, ME, John W. Levesque, Arkport, NY, one step daughter, Barbara Joyce, Londonderry, NH, one step son, Richard Thomas, Manchester, NH, seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and one great great grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 14th at 10:00 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brown Ave., Manchester, NH. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH on Wednesday, February 13th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8pm.
