Joan M. (Racusin) Aronberg, 78, of New Bedford died May 22, 2011 at home after a long illness.
She was the wife of Norman H. Aronberg.
Born in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late William E. and Fay (Blechman) Racusin, she lived overseas while her husband served in the U.S. Army before moving to New Bedford in 1969.
Mrs. Aronberg was an active member of the International Church of the Nazarene where she volunteered as a Librarian, Sunday School teacher, Women's Ministry and Missionary President.
She was formerly employed by Epec, Inc. in New Bedford until her retirement in 1980.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven E. Aronberg of Alexandria, VA; a daughter, Rhonda L. Corey and her husband John of Warwick, RI; a grandson, Alexander J. Corey; her niece and nephew, Emma Cottman and Charles Cottman; her great-niece and nephew, Faith Cottman and William Cottman.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
