Obituary

Mr. John J. “Jack” Furtado, Jr., of East Taunton, died unexpectedly Friday, May 20 in Morton Hospital. He was the loving companion of Rachel D’Intinosanto. He was born 64 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late John J. and Ida M. (Willette) Furtado, Sr. He was educated in East Taunton and was a graduate of Taunton High School and the former Southeastern Mass. University in Dartmouth. Mr. Furtado was a lifelong resident of East Taunton. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as an X-Ray Technologist at Morton Hospital in Taunton for 42 years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton.
He leaves: 3 sons: Marc Furtado and his wife, Sandy of Taunton, Lt. Matthew Furtado of the U.S.Navy, serving in Germany, and SPC Philip Furtado,serving in the U.S.Army, and his wife, Rochelle of Rhode Island; 1 brother: James Furtado of East Taunton; his former wife: Linda Verrocchio of Las Vegas, Nev., and his former wife: Mary Furtado of Raynham; 3 grandchildren: Kylie Furtado, Khloe Furtado, and Jack Furtado, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Wednesday, May 25 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church, East Taunton, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
