Catherine Elizabeth Fuqua
Catherine Elizabeth Fuqua,91, of Clarksville died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Montgomery Care & Rehab.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2011, at Madison Street United Methodist Church with Dr. Rev. Lenoir Culbertson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visiation will be Sunday 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home and Monday 12:00 PM until the hour of service at the church.
She was born June 15, 1919, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Otha K. Fuqua, Sr. and Mabel Irby Fuqua. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Otha K. Fuqua, Jr. and one sister, Helen Fuqua Pyland.
She is survived by one son Phillip Fuqua of Clarksville, four nephews David Pyland, Donald Pyland, Jim (Bo) Bennett and William Bennett, four nieces Janet Bennett Gibson, Ann Fuqua Moseley, Nancy Fuqua Ussery and Diana Pyland Sloan, one sister Lucille F. Davis of Clarksville, TN. two grandchildren Joshua David Fuqua and Phillip Matthew Fuqua.
She was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church since 1947 where she volunteered and also was employed in the business office. She was a DAR member and served as Chaplain, and also a member of Business & Professional Women.
Pallbearers will be David Ussery, Carl Moseley, Bill Gibson, Pat Sawyer, Donald Pyland and James Davis. Honorary pallbeaers will be Charlton Fuqua and David Pyland.
