Ann Marie (Taylor) Ferrara, 63, died Friday, May 20th after a brief illness at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Ferrara of Hudson.
Ann Marie was born in Marlboro, daughter of the late George and Marie (Farina) Taylor. She was a life long resident of Hudson where she attended local schools and graduated from Hudson High School, class of 1965. She later attended Hair Styling School in Worcester and owned and operated Studio B Hair Saloon in Hudson during the early 1980’s. Ann Marie was employed as a quality control inspector by the former Digital Equipment Corp. for 12 years and later for Adaptive Instruments Co. of Hudson for many years until retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Italian American’s Club, “ITAM” of Marlboro; member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks where she was honored to be voted by her fellow members as “Elk of the Year” in 2002 and member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Ann Marie enjoyed traveling, especially the many vacations and trips she shared with her family and friends. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, devoted grandmother and dear friend to all who knew her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her four daughters, Tonia (Ferrara) Bouvier and her husband Jay of Hudson, Tara (Ferrara) Williamson and her husband Steve of Middleboro, Tatum Ferrara of Hudson and Tressa Ferrara of Northboro. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Caroline and Jillian Bouvier, Erica, Dominic and Nora Williamson, Kevin Figueiredo, Justin, Shawn and Jake Travis and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George Taylor Jr. in 2010.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May24th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
