Salem, New Hampshire – June A. (Quinlan) Valliere, 78, beloved wife, mother and educator, died Tuesday surrounded by her family at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry NH.
Born July 25, 1932 in South Boston, June was the daughter of Dennis and Margaret (Donnelley) Quinlan. Mrs. Valliere had been a Salem, NH, resident since 1962. She was a graduate of the class of 1950 , from Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen and because of her desire to teach children she graduated Summa Cum a Laude, from the University of New Hampshire where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree.
For more than 35 years June taught in the Hudson, NH school system. She was twice the recipient of the Governors award for excellence in education. Furthermore, she would also be honored for developing a partnership for the first in the state, in school post office.
She was a devout Catholic and an active communicant of Saint Monica’s Church; June was in Saint Monica’s Drama Club, she was their first girl scout leader, she sang in the church choir, and was active in the CYO.
The widow of A. Bernard Valliere , survivors include her children; Dennis P. and his wife Denise Valliere of Pelham, NH, B. Gerald and his wife Ann Valliere of Manchester, NH, Deborah M. Fuller of Salem, NH, Daniel J. and his wife Maria Valliere of Viera, Florida, Patrice of Salem , and her husband Thomas Shaw of Sandown, NH, and Gary E. Valliere of Aurora, Colorado, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
June was predeceased by sons Thomas P. and John L. Valliere and brother and sister Edward F. Quinlan husband of Theresa Quinlan, of Methuen, Ma, and Patricia A.Carson. Wife of George J. Carson, of Ocala, Florida.
A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Salem, NH.
Friends will be warmly received on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
