Obituary

Dorothy T. (Makin) Woollum, 89, of New Bedford died Friday May 20, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Beatrice (Park) Makin, she lived in New Bedford for all of her life.

Mrs. Woollum was formerly employed as a cashier at Atlantic Mills Department Store.

She enjoyed raising African violets and crocheting afghans for her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda L. Ross and Nancy Labrecque, both of New Bedford, and Dianne Finger of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Tracey Ross-Ramos, Lisa Cook Davis, and Chad Patrick Bonville; a great-granddaughter, Maggie Leigh Sullivan; and several nieces and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Alfred Patrick Makin.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Her family will receive visitors at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 AM prior to the Mass.
