MANCHESTER- Helen Catherine (Pasieka) Noga, 95, died peacefully May 19, 2011 at Courville at Manchester following a brief period of declining health. She was born in Manchester on April 3, 1916, the daughter of Stanislaw A. and Jadwiga (Wloch) Pasieka, and lived most of her life in Manchester, moving to Auburn, NH in 2002 to reside with her daughter, Dr. Nancy Beaurivage.
She attended Hallsville School, skipped several grades and went on to attend Manchester High School Central. She continued her pursuit of learning and self-education, obtaining a GED when she retired. A skilled textile worker, she was employed as a spinner by Amoskeag Mills, Arms Textile Mills, and Waumbec Mills. She was a devoted, lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity Cathedral and a member of the ANS Woman’s Society. She survived her late husband of forty-nine years, Frank A. Noga; she was also predeceased by brothers, Henry and John Pasieka, and her sister, Mary Pasieka.
Helen was the matriarch of her family, the repository and teacher of family history, traditions and values. She was proud of her Polish heritage, and taught its traditions and language to her daughters and her two grandsons, as well as extended family, friends and neighbors. She was an accomplished cook, pastry maker and baker, who was always eager to share her knowledge and recipes with family and friends. Many meals that she prepared for her family included vegetables from her extensive home garden. She truly had the proverbial green thumb; all living things that she touched flourished. For pleasure and relaxation she enjoyed crocheting and reading, and she had a lifelong love of travel, which she enjoyed well into her tenth decade. The true joy of her life was her family, especially her two grandsons.
Members of her family include two daughters, Dr. Nancy Beaurivage and her husband Robert, Joan Pazdon and her husband Walter, both of Auburn, two grandchildren James F. Beaurivage of Manhattan, NY. and Andrew F. Pazdon of Oxford, United Kingdom, a sister, Adele Murray of Milan, OH, a brother, Stanley Pasieka of Bonita Springs, FL., and several nieces and nephews.
