Richard E. Faulkenberry, of New Bedford, passed away suddenly at home at the age of 48. He is survived by his sons Daniel and David both of Plymouth, his brother Alfred Faulkenberry Jr. of NC; and his sisters Elaine Trotter of MO; Amanda Noble of NJ and Charity Hardin of FL. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Richard graduated from Duke in 1983 and received his PhD from the University of Maryland in 1990. He was a math professor at UMass Dartmouth. There are no visiting hours and all services are private. Arrangements made by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to the William Sturgis Friends of Education Foundation, 427 Main St, Hyannis, MA 02601.
