Obituary

Malcolm L. husband of the late Margaret (McGrath) Tinkham, Age 90 of Middleboro formerly of Taunton, died on May 19th. He was born in Brockton, MA on Christmas day. 1920 to the late Leroy and Jennie (Conant) Tinkham. Malcolm was the devoted father of William Tinkhan and his wife Jeanne of Taunton, Jean Dusseault and her husband Richard of Berkley, John Tinkhan and his wife Margaret of Truro, Peter Tinkham and his wife Juliet of Sharon, Carol Silva-Tinkham and her husband Steve of Bourne, Malcolm Tinkham and his wife Lorelie of Coventry, RI and the late beloved daughter Nancy Tinkham. Grandfather of seventeen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Howard Tinkham, Carl Tinkham, Lois Vickery and Carolyn Dean. He was a former member of the Masons and Pilgrim Congregational Church in Taunton. His greatest love in life was spending time with his family and the outdoors. Malcolm was a Mechanical Engineer who retired from Raytheon in 1981. He graduated from Brockton High School and Northeast University. During the Second World War he enlisted in the US Army Air Force in April of 1944, and participated in twenty seven missions as a B-24 bomber pilot in the Mediterranean Theater. He received both the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Air Medal GO 4683 with two gold leaf clusters. He retired from the reserves officer status as a LT. Colonel in 1968. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Saturday, May 21st from 9:30 Am to 11 AM followed by a service at the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment will be at Rock Cemetery in Middleboro, Ma. In lieu of flowers donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to New Life Baptist Church, 2 Lincoln Street, Middleboro, ma, 02346.
