Worcester – Ann (Gleason) Martin, 73, of West Boylston, formerly of Thorndyke Road, Worcester, died peacefully Thursday, January 30th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 40 years, George F. Martin; two sons, Christopher J. & his wife Ana Martin, Andrew C.& his wife, Allyson Martin, all of Worcester; a brother, Francis D. “Frank” Gleason of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Julian and Isabella Rose; nieces & nephews; A sister, Marie Conlan of Scituate predeceased her. Ann was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Francis and Deborah (Moynihan) Gleason. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from Wellesley College where she was an honor’s graduate. While at Wellesley she was a member of the Newman Club. She did graduated studies and both Boston University and Boston State College.
Mrs. Martin was a manager of Educational Services at an employer’s association company in Worcester, retiring in 1997. Previously, she worked at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston.
She was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church; the Wellesley Club; Central Mass Human Resource Association; a founding member and board director for the Central Mass Chapter of American Society of Training Directors.
The Funeral will be held Monday, February 2nd from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 WEST BOYLSTON STREET, WEST BOYLSTON, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in The Church of Saint Joan of Arc, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Entombment will be in Saint John’s Cemetery Mausoleum.
