Obituary

John L. Ruzgis age 81 of Brockton died Wednesday May 18, 2011 at Baypointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a six year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born in Brockton a son of the late Anthony and Rose (Kuranowski) Ruzgis and remained a lifelong resident of the city. Following graduation from Brockton High School he entered the US Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict receiving the Good Conduct and Korean Service medals.
John retired as a security guard at the Foxboro Company after many years of service. He walked five miles daily in D. W. Field Park with a group of friends. John enjoyed working around his house and especially time spent with his nieces and nephews at family gatherings and events.
John was the brother of Louise Browne and her husband William of East Bridgewater and the late Walter A. Ruzgis. He is also survived by four nieces and nephews Anthony and Margaret Browne, Betty Friedman and Steven Ruzgis.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday 9-10 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10 am. Burial with military honors in Calvary Cemetery.
