Larry Wayne Alexander, 59, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Turner Church Cemetery in Enigma with the Rev. Dan Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Alexander was born November 21, 1951 in Ocilla to the late Eugene B. and Virginia Whaley Alexander. He lived in Irwin and Ben Hill Counties most of his life. Mr. Alexander was a painting contractor. Serving in the United States Army and Navy during the Vietnam War Era, he was a member of the Georgia State Defense Force and was named Soldier of The Year. He was a member of The Church of The Nazarene.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Patricia & John Sims of Hernando Beach, FL and Beth & Tommy Harris of Alma as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
