Pembroke – William P. “Bill” Ostroski 81, died Wednesday May 18 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Cosgrove) Ostroski.
Born and raised in Quincy he was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Kurpieski) Ostroski.
Bill was a proud veteran of the US Air Force having served as a Sergeant in the 85th Bombardment Squadron from 1947 – 1953.
He had been a longtime resident of East Bridgewater before his move to Pembroke 3 years ago, and for several years had been a caring foster parent to many children.
He enjoyed watching a variety of movies and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his loving daughter Janet McKay and her husband James of Byrantville, his granddaughter Jamie Maul and her husband Clifford of Bridgewater, his sister Josephine Durazzano of N. Attleboro and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Mary Frances Ostroski.
His services will be held Saturday May 21 at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Hanson. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday May 20 from 5 – 7 PM.
