BOSTON — Philip B. Wordell, age 76 years, of New Bedford, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of Linda Talbot Wordell.
Born in Little Compton, R.I., son of the late Glenwood and Rena (Brownell) Wordell, he lived in Fairhaven for 40 years until recently moving to New Bedford.
Philip worked for Grundy Lumber, Dartmouth Building Supply and Fairhaven Lumber until retiring.
He especially loved animals and enjoyed meeting his friends daily at Donut Mill in Acushnet.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a brother, Glenwood Wordell of Dartmouth; sisters, Gladys Grundy of Westport and Ruth Farias of Fall River; and four children by his previous marriage.
He was brother of the late Frederick Wordell.
Visitation with a service will take place on Thursday, May 19th from 4-7 p.m., at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford.
