Obituary

WEBB, Celia Marie (Mauti) – Long-time resident of West Roxbury, 91, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Coolidge House Rehabilitation Center, Brookline, MA.

She was born on July 17, 1919, in Westford, MA, daughter of the late Louis and Philomena (Barretto) Mauti. Celia was a 1935 graduate of Lowell High School, and attended Lowell Commercial College. Following college, she worked for the War Department in Washington, D.C., where she met and married her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Herbert Webb.

She was a long-time communicant of St. Theresa of Avila Church in West Roxbury, MA, a member of America Needs Fatima, a member the WGBH television station family, a member of the Boston Centers for Youth and Families, a benefactor of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., and a long-time “friend” of the Boston POPS which she attended regularly.

She is survived by one sister, Gloria Dilsavor of Dublin, OH; three sons, Herbert Webb of West Roxbury, Stephen Webb of Salem, MA, James Webb of Stony Brook, NY; two daughters, Virgie Moser of Billerica and Mary Webb of Boston; a loving and devoted son-in-law, Roland Moser of Billerica; three daughters-in-law, Vikki Webb of West Roxbury (who lovingly took care of Celia in her own home for the last ten years), Debbie Webb of Stony Brook, NY, and Paula Webb from Salem, MA; seven grandchildren, Christine Conkle of Columbus, OH; Susan Roberts of Amherst, MA; Pamela Bailey of Pelham, NH; Daniel Betz of Columbus, OH; Colin and Shannon Webb of Salem, MA; Dylan Webb of Stony Brook, NY. She also leaves 12 great-grandchildren. Celia was predeceased by her husband, Herbert, and two brothers, Albert and Henry Mauti.

Funeral from the P.E. Murray-George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, May 20th at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Theresa’s Church, West Roxbury, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday, May 19th from 4-8 PM. Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
