Obituary

Edward F. Kolaczewski, 94, of New Bedford died Saturday May 14, 2011 at Sacred Heart Home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Eileen (O'Neill) Kolaczewski and the late Olga (Tomasik) Kolaczewski.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Karol and Cora H. (Blasik) Kolaczewski, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.

Mr. Kolaczewski worked in management at Revere Copper and Brass for 36 years until his retirement.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the Battles of Guadalcanal, Northern Solomons, and Southern Philippines.

He was a graduate of Bryant College and Bentley College.

He was a member of the Polish-American Veterans Association and the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Senior Golf League at Hawthorne Country Club. He enjoyed bowling and dancing.

Survivors include his wife; four nieces and three nephews; 16 great-nieces and nephews; and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Kathleen H. Kolaczewski and the brother of the late Walter J. Kolaczewski.

His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted. For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
