Obituary

Andrew G. “Andy” Ott, 47, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Medical Center Of Central Georgia.


Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Ross and Dr. Mike Ruffin officiating. Dene’ Hogan will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Andy was born February 22, 1964 in Fitzgerald to Freddie E. Ott and Nellie Jo Brown Knighten. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1983. Andy received a two-year degree in Computer Networking from East Central Technical College. He was a former employee of Metro Services in Albany. Andy served in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fitzgerald Jaycees and the Elks Club.

He is survived by his children: Jud Ott of Valdosta, Josh Ott of Nashville and Emily Ott of Dublin; father and stepmother: Freddie & Melba Ott of Fitzgerald; mother: Nellie Jo Knighten of Polan; brother & sister-in-law: Mike & Terri Ott of Nashville, TN; sisters: Jodi Ott of Irwin County and Claire Peacock of Fitzgerald; half brother: Doyle Knighten of Albany; stepbrothers: Johnny Singleton of Newnan, Tim Singleton of Gainesville and Bruce Singleton of Blakely, as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judson & Mildred Ott.
