William R. Villers, 71, of Spencer, West Virginia, formerly of Wray, GA, died Friday May 13, 2011 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home in Elizabeth, WV with Rev. Brian Dailey, Rev. Denzil Ray and Rev. Melvin Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Twist Cemetery in Wirt County, WV. Visitation will be Monday, May 16 from 2 to 8pm.
Mr. Villers was born December 10, 1939 in Calhoun County, WV to the late George and Mildred Greathouse Villers. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers. His greatest joy in life was ministering the Lord's word. An Apostalic Evangelist, his life's creed was "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (II Timothy 4:7).
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Cheryl "Sherry" Villers of Spencer, four sons; William & Darlene Villers of Fitzgerald, GA, Scott & Sharlotte Villers, David Villers, and Richard & Diane Villers all of Grantsville, WV, one daughter; Melaney & Ricky Davis of Grantsville, WV, nineteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, two sisters; Patsy Bowers and Sandy & Terry Fowler of Annamoriah, WV, one brother; Darrell & Mary Bower of Creston, WV as well as several nieces and nephews.
