Mary T. Farren, a 10 year resident of Malden and former lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was 82 years old.
Mary was born in Boston to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (McBride) Farren. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1947. Mary was a homemaker and lived in Charlestown for 72 years before moving to Malden in 2001.
Mary is the beloved sister of the late Sr. Mary Gilmoira C.S.J., Catherine Sullivan, Ann E. Crowley, John Farren, Frances G. Buckley, Joseph Farren and Daniel Farren. She is the loving aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Mary on Monday morning, May 16, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
