Charles R. Vincent, 86, of Westport died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Southpointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fall River. He was the husband of Kathleen F. (Kerrigan) Vincent, they were married for 61 years.
Born in Westport, son of the late Romeo and Annie (Wharmby) Vincent, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a transmission technician for Empire Chevrolet in Fall River and Ashley Ford in New Bedford. Mr. Vincent was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport and was a member of the V.F.W. Ouellette Post 8502 of Westport. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Charles E. Vincent of Bristol, RI, Michael S. Vincent and his wife Linda of Westport and Brian P. Vincent and his wife Debora of Dartmouth; 3 sisters: Lillian Jean of Norton, Dorothy Gwordz of Westport and Gertrude Bonilla of Brockton; a grandson: Joshua Vincent; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late George, William and Albert Vincent, Bertha Ouellette, Mabel Mason and Jean Roy.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, May 16, 2011 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 5 – 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
