Paul McLean Orcutt, 82, of Natick, passed away on May 10, 2011 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick. He was the husband of Rita D. (Harbour) Orcutt with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Washburn, ME, son of the late Eugene and Myrtle (McLean) Orcutt, Paul was raised in Ashland, ME where he was educated. After graduating from Ashland High School, he was employed as a teller at the Ashland Trust Company. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 1, 1951 in Bangor, ME and served with the 3275th USAF Hospital during the Korean War. The recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, Paul was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman First Class on July 31, 1955 at Parks Air Force Base in CA and continued to serve in the United States Air Force Reserves until 1959. Upon returning from military service, Paul enrolled in the University of Maine at Orono where he earned his BA degree in Business and Economics in 1959. Professionally, Paul was employed as a bank examiner for the Federal Government and then as a tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service until his retirement in 1986. He settled in Natick in 1967 after previously living in Holliston. Paul enjoyed reading, working in his yard, and travelling.
In addition to his wife Paul is survived by 2 daughters, Anne-Marie Flavin and her husband Patrick of Grafton and Barbara-Jean Crosby and her husband Thomas of Natick. He was the grandfather of Sean, Danielle, Ryan, Jared, Shayna, and Desirae; brother of Anne Bergeron of Rochester, NH; and uncle of Alan Hill of NH, Terri Dumont of ME, and the late Eugene Hill.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Salvation Army of Framingham, 35 Concord St. Framingham, MA 01702. In lieu of flowers Paul’s family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Salvation Army of Framingham at the above address.
