Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Mary E. (Keyes) Thibedeau, 93, of Haskell Street, died Monday morning, May 9, 2011 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Elmer B. Thibedeau, who died in March of 1988.
Born in Gloucester on December 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Henry R. and Jennie L. (Eaton) Keyes. A lifelong resident, she had attended Gloucester public schools and was a longtime communicant of the former St. Peter’s Church.
Mary was employed as a fish packer at the former Seafood Kitchens of East Gloucester for sixteen years before retiring in 1979. She had also worked as a fish cutter down the Fort at the former Birdseye Plant.
She is survived by her daughter, Collette C. Luzio; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald D. and Julie (Selig) Thibedeau; four grandchildren, Teresa F. Luzio, Marc F. Luzio, R. David Thibedeau, Jr., and Scott, husband of Asha Thibedeau; three great-grandchildren, Deven, Amaya and Emma Thibedeau; sister, Margie Stanton; sister-in-law, Phyllis (Andersen) Keyes; a half-sister, Janet, wife of John Kendricks; three half-brothers, George, Paul and Brian Keyes; as well as many nieces, nephews, wonderful neighbors and dear friends including, Jack Josephson and Charlie Blaney. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Bessie Stillman and Gladys Sawler; two brothers, Howard and Henry Keyes and her stepmother, Alma Keyes.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 11 a.m. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the VNA Care Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
