Obituary

O'Brien, Edward Lawrence, May 10, at the Age 84, of Marshfield Hills, MA in Bedford, MA at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Medical Center, May 10, 2011, after a long illness. Survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Margaret (Kelly), and his devoted children, Joanne and Richard Hudson of Wakefield, MA, Michael and Kathryn O'Brien of Chappaqua, NY, Kevin and Rozilyn O'Brien of Salem, NH, James and Irene O'Brien of Koblenz, Germany, Lawrence O'Brien and Patricia Roper of Amherst, MA and Andrew O'Brien and Michelle Consalvo of West Roxbury, MA. Grandpa to 17 grandchildren who loved and adored him. Also survived by his dear brother Eugene of Hobe Sound, FL, and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased in life by his parents, Edward and Mary, and his sister Virginia Curly, all of Baldwin, NY.
Ed was a native of Brooklyn, NY. Veteran of the United States Navy, World War II, and served at the invasion of Okinawa. Graduated from the University of Missouri. Longtime employee and retiree of the Liberty Mutual Group, Boston, MA. Active parishioner and devoted daily communicant of Saint Christine's Parish.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St, Rte 139, Marshfield Monday at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Christine's Church 1095 Main St Marshfield at 11:00 am.
Visiting hours Sunday May 15, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1:45 pm.
