John J. Alessandro passed away on May 11, 2011. He was 87 years old.
Born in Italy, John lived in Boston’s North End and East Boston and was a longtime resident of Malden. He worked for many years as a carpenter for the City of Boston.
John was the devoted husband of 68 years to Teresa (Gallo) Alessandro. He was the beloved father of Phyllis Powers of Maine and John Alessandro and his wife Elena of Melrose. John was the dear brother of Mary Smith, Susan Sweeney, Annette Salvaggio,Tony, Vito, Roger, Richard, and Joseph Alessandro and the late Connie Russo and Carlo and Enrico Alessandro. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the A.J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Monday, May 16th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Sunday, May 15th from 3-6 p.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
