Obituary

Watlington, Hollis George of Quincy, passed away May 10, 2011.

Husband of the late Evelyn S. (Forsythe) Watlington. Loving father to Beth Walker of Quincy, Esther Sullivan of Georgia, Sherry Spellman and her husband, Robert, of West Kingston, Rhode Island, Kenneth Watlington and his wife, Victoria, of Abington, and the late Suzanne McMann. Brother of James Watlington of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Anne Shawof Pasedena, Maryland. Father-in-law of Michael McMann of Quincy Devoted and generous grandfather to 10 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

George was born and raised in South Mills, North Carolina and had lived there for many years before moving to Quincy in 1945. He had worked as a foreman for twenty seven years for the U.S. Postal Service in South Boston until his retirement in 1973. George was a member of the American Legion Post # 95 in Quincy, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 613, and the Disabled American Veterans. He also served in the United States Marines during World War 2, and was proud that he fought in Iwa Jima and was a receipant of the Purple Heart.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 6 - 8 p.m in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Wollaston.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m.
in the Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.

Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
