Ellis, Robert N. 72, of Canaan Maine and formerly of Plymouth, died May 7, 2011 after a valiant struggle with heart ailments.
Bob was a union carpenter and small businessman. He also served in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Sergeant in the Military Police, Detachment One, Unit772 of Plymouth. Bob was always searching for the big idea or invention that would make him rich. His hobbies included karate and flea markets. He made friends and was loved wherever he lived and worked, and was known for his kindness, easy-going nature, and sense of humor.
Bob leaves behind a son Kenny, his former wife Dianne (Trepanier) Ellis, a daughter-in-law, Krista, two grandchildren, Zoey and Oliver, as well as two surviving sisters Dorothy Parker and Barbara Felton, his companion Nancy Olsen, and his three dogs, Jelly, Muffin, and Sammy. He was predeceased by brothers Arthur, Francis, Everett, and Walter and sisters Gladys, Marion, Nancy and Marjorie.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court Street (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth Thursday May 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 13 at 11:00 AM in Vine Hills Cemetery Plymouth, MA.
